UT AUSTIN STAN RICHARDS SCHOOL AND MOODY COLLEGE

In the fall of 2018 JoAnn Sciarrino, the Director of Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations and Isabella Cunningham Chair in Advertising in Moody College at University of Texas at Austin, engaged with us to capture in live painting the visiting residencies of industry professionals coming to the schools to engage with the students. Since then we have been capturing the residencies (with an extended Covid hiatus in the middle), following the visitors around as they speak, sit in on critiques and engage with panels with the student body, professors and new director Natalie Tindall. We capture the participants and the conversation and quick sketchnotes and composite them into one poster-like illustration covering the whole visit. The output has been a series of beautiful acrylic prints—a 32x48” one for each visit that adorns the 4th floor of the Belo center and a smaller print that is sent to the guest as a thank you and memento.
