DESIGN RANCH 25: Sketch Social Hour

Great times leading the Sketch Social Hour at @designranchatx at beautiful @camp_waldemar in Hunt, Texas!
In 2023, I attended design ranch as an instructor, teaching my Gonzo Drawing workshop. During the evening social hour, following my Drink n’ Draw tendencies, I would set up at a table and sketch, and, to my delight, many of my fellow Design Ranchers joined me — and it kinda became a thing.

So this year, the organizers brought me back to lead the “Sketch Social Hour” as an official activity. Every night after dinner during the music and entertainment, we set up tables with art supplies with a prompt to come draw, with amazing results! With an optional prompt to sketch one of their fellow Design Ranchers, we also managed to create a piece of communal art composed of over 60 portraits!

Thanks to @artamoreaustin and @armandorayo for facilitating and making sure I was fully supplied, @misanazareno for helping run the Social Hour, Ranch leader @bartrival, all the rest of the board members, volunteers and instructors who planned and executed this fantastic creative weekend, and all the Ranchers who came, shared their talent and creativity, and sketched with me!
